Sharrow Youth Club

Forge run a youth club in Sharrow every week. We meet every Tuesday night at 7pm til 9pm at the Old Junior School Main Hall. We’re open to young people aged 11 and higher.

We have had contact with well over 120 young people in the area, and have a good relationship with about 60. Some of them are regulars to the club, and the others we see on detached youth work, or come along to say hello every now and then. We try to invest and support young people in whatever way we can, in a relaxed and fun environment.

The youth club features a PS2, Wii, table tennis, badminton, but often a lot of the time is spent just chatting over a hot drink. We have this opportunity to talk about their lives, our lives, how they feel, and God. Some young people engage with us in mentoring-style relationships, where we support them as they transition from school to college and employment. We currently all volunteer at the youth club, something that is appreciated by all who come.
