Upperthorpe

Upperthorpe and Netherthorpe started very differently to the other areas. We built relationships with the young people in the area through doing 'detached' youth work. This means without the use of a youth club or building we saw a need and got to know the young people that hang out in the area. We mainly work with young people from 13-19 some of which have been excluded from school, are on an ASBO (anti-social behaviour-order), been in prison, or are dealing with teenage pregnancy, that sort of thing, and then some of them are just bored!
